Deaf/HH - Teaching Assistant, ASL RequiredBeverly School for the Deaf (BSD)Located in Beverly, Massachusetts, CCCBSD is a school for Deaf and Hearing children ages 3 to 22 with unique developmental, physical, and communication needs. The Beverly School for the Deaf (BSD) Program provides comprehensive educational and therapeutic programming to Deaf/HH students with and without special developmental challenges. Our 204 day program maintains a low student to teacher ratio of 4:2. With electronic whiteboards and iPad technology in each classroom, students access instruction across a number of modalities including: American Sign Language - ASL (bi/bi), oral language, technology and various AAC. Professional development groups meet weekly to support the learning needs of students and the instructional needs of faculty.We are seeking classroom faculty with exceptional knowledge with a range of diverse Deaf and special needs children. We are currently hiring for two full-time, classroom teaching assistants with skills in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience in a classroom setting or in adult services. This instructional position supports Deaf students with developmental, physical, and communication challenges across their school day. A typical classroom supports 4-5 students in a highly supportive faculty model. Under the leadership of a classroom teacher, Teaching Assistants (TAs) support direct academic and therapeutic instruction, data collection, and communication (ASL) development. Candidate must have a high comfort level with special needs Deaf children, instructional technology and implementing a range of language and academic tools.This full-time (37.5 hrs), benefited position offers regular professional development, opportunities for growth, and a team settings. Opportunities to pursue a Masters degree in Deaf Education through our partnership program with Endicott College.
