PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - SIERRA DISTRICT / ALPINE-MONO SECTOR / GROVER HOT SPRINGS STATE PARK

Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).

The reporting location for his position is 3415 Hot Springs Road, Markleeville, CA, 96120 Grover Hot Springs State Park. This position works under the lead of a State Park Ranger, Supervising Ranger, or a Senior Park Aide.

Applicants must be available on holidays and weekends. Duties include working with the public, staffing park entrance stations, checking in campers, cash handling, providing information to visitors, reporting public safety issues, explaining park rules and regulations, clean and maintain kiosk, account for kiosk supplies, prepare fee collection accounting documents, and report safety and maintenance issues to park staff. Additional tasks may include assisting in campfire programs, nature walks, junior ranger programs, and performing minor maintenance duties.

Park Aides must be able to work independently; follow instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the general public and other employees; use supplies and equipment required by the job; evaluate problems and take corrective action. Applicants must be willing to purchase and wear a uniform and conform to minimal grooming standards.

Park Aides are the first people the public see when entering a State Park. You must be prepared to represent State Parks in a positive way. Enthusiasm for the mission of State Parks and an appreciation of our natural and cultural heritage are a definite plus. These are great positions for anyone interested in a career in Parks.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
