Description

The position performs varied office duties including reception, customer transactions, cash handling and general office assistance.

Examples of Duties

Greets the public and directs them to activities; answers multi-line telephone and provides facility information.

Serves as a customer service representative for a variety of transactions including: sign-up program registrations and take money via software, drop-in facility fees, pass sales, etc. Notifies participants of program/class cancellations or changes.

Display a positive and cooperative attitude with the public and staff. Creates a positive experience for patrons through professional and courteous behavior and effective problem solving.

Maintains safety, cleanliness and organization of work area surrounding the lobby area. Assists with other cleaning as assigned.

Answer questions as able and direct calls/person to appropriate manager or location.

Report any concerns to appropriate management.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Graduation from High School (or GED).

An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.

Leadership and public relations skills

Decision making skills

Good knowledge of customer service standards; cashier and money handling procedures; general office practices, multi-line telephones, basic math, spelling English and grammar.

Ability and skill to communicate effectively, tactfully and pleasantly with the public; work effectively with frequent interruptions; operate a variety of office equipment including computer, phone system and copier machine; physically perform the duties; work cooperatively with others; and create a positive, constructive relationship with staff and the general public.
