Part Time AP Clerk The Company: HF Custom/Sam Moore Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), is currently recruiting for a Part-Time AP Clerk to work in our plant in Bedford, VA. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 100th year of business, is a designer, marketer, and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality, and contract markets. Sam Moore has been crafting high quality upholstered seating for over 80 years. The Position: We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our team in Bedford, VA. This position will play a key role in managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling invoices and other financial records. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and able to work independently to support our finance team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Invoice Management:
    • Gather and print all incoming invoices.
    • Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
    • Properly mark invoices with the correct accounts, dates, purchase orders, and other relevant details.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Collect and organize all packing lists and associated documentation.
    • Access and manage records as needed to support internal and external audits.
  • Mail and Correspondence:
    • Distribute incoming mail and process relevant documentation.
    • Engage in minimal correspondence with vendors regarding invoice payment statuses to ensure timely processing.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or accounts payable role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Schedule: 25-29 hrs. per week, we can be flexible with the specific days and times. Pay: 17.00 per hour
