Custodians have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
• Empty, clean, and replenish waste containers
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, ensuring supplies like toilet paper and soap are adequately stocked
• Undertake minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, or repairing broken fixtures
• Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours
• Identify and report the need for major repairs to supervisors or management
• Move equipment, furniture, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
• Keep exterior spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks clean and tidy
• Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring the use of appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
