PART-TIME DISHWASHER - U.S. Space & Rocket Center : Job Details

PART-TIME DISHWASHEROverview Maintain effective and efficient levels of cleanliness and sanitation for all Food Service areas and equipment. Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
• Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Sweep or scrub floors.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
• Receive and store supplies.
• Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
• Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
• Prepare and package individual place settings.
• Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No Travel Required:No QualificationsRequired Education and Experience Education: Completion of High School or G.E.D required. Preferred Education and Experience Some experience in the food service industry in stock or general maintenance. Other Requirements Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to use cleaning chemicals and tools effectively and safely. Must be well organized and detail oriented. This position has the following special requirements:

• Standing for long periods of time (6-8 hours) or for duration of shift unloading stock, cleaning floors, operating food service equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds to waist height.
• Walking and climbing (stairs & ladders) to access other areas of the Food Service department to transport stock, trash, clean & mop floors.
• Pushing, carrying, lifting supplies, food pans, trash, stock up to 80 lbs. shoulder high.
• Bending, kneeling, reaching to store & retrieve supplies, sweep & mop floors, remove trash, transport stock.
• Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to use cleaning tools, handle chemicals, empty trash receptacles, operate dish machine, push food carts, verify stock invoices.
• Talking and hearing to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, guests, and employees in person.
• This position involves working in a climate-controlled kitchen environment that is subject to changing temperatures and outside in various weather conditions.
• This position is subject to the hazards related to the food service industry.
