Job Specific Duties
- Dishwashing: Operate industrial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Sanitation: Ensure all dishes and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
- Kitchen Support: Assist kitchen staff with various tasks, including food prep, inventory management, and general cleaning.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor dishwashing equipment for proper functioning and report any issues to maintenance staff.
- Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area, including storage of clean dishes and utensils.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and protocols while handling chemicals and operating equipment.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with special projects, events, and additional tasks as needed to support the overall operations and goals of the hospital caf and broader hospital community.
What you will need
- Previous experience in a dishwasher or kitchen utility role, preferably in a food service or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene standards related to dishwashing and food service.
- Ability to operate industrial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in food safety or sanitation is a plus.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
