With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Part Time Electrical Inspector, with 10-20 years of experience, to join our construction management team to support our NYS Parks program.Role accountabilities:This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. As an Inspector, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, building systems including MEP, site development and general civil/structural knowledge for a new multiuse facility and general building project to successfully oversee and manage a General Contractors progress, under the supervision of the Construction Manager or Project Executive, and help us build and grow our practice.Construction Oversight: Manage the firm's day-to-day construction activity while also taking responsibility for Electrical Inspections efforts on major municipal new building and infrastructure projects. Part of this role will involve preparing .daily inspector reports in accordance with client requirementsCommunication: Act as liaison to design staff to respond to contractors' RFI's and review of shop drawings while also providing technical review of construction plans/specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality. Use effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community.Third Party Involvement: Monito Contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness while exerting influence over Contractors to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience as an Electrical Inspector or Resident Engineer in NYC Metro area. Previous NYS Parks experience would be a plus.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe and healthful workplace Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency with Procore (CMIS System), Primavera and/or MS Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage project workload and remain responsive to Client requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10-20 years of experience with at least 5 years of Electrical Inspection experience specifically for NYS Parks or other NYC Metro Public agencies.
