The Housekeeper should provide a high level of service to customers by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and partnerships. Accept responsibility for managing situations and problems. Work cooperatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to achieving team and University objectives. Adhere to the University's policies, procedures, and other established guidelines.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs cleaning and janitorial duties, which include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
- Keep restrooms, storage areas, carts, and other assigned areas well-stocked, clean, and tidy at all times.
- Follow safety precautions at all times.
- Clean all assigned areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Gathers and empties trash and cleans whiteboards.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Wash windows, doors, and mirrors as needed.
- Clean all desks, counters, and baseboards.
- Annually cleans all walls, light fixtures, ceilings, shampoos, carpets, washing lockers, and vacuuming cold air registers.
- Requires working in damp, dusty, and dirty areas. Must clean human waste and other bodily fluids as required.
- Must handle and use various cleaning solutions, solvents, and chemicals.
- Must comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department regulations.
- Replaces burnt-out light bulbs.
- Reports major repairs and supply orders to the supervisor.
- Assists and reports any safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist in painting and refurbishing the interiors of the dorms, houses, and buildings as needed.
- Able to work overtime and weekends as needed by the university to ensure the campus's cleanliness.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES FOR THE JOBMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education:
- High School Diploma or GED/HSE required.
Experience:
- Previous housekeeping work experience required.
