For more information visit Under general supervision, assists in ensuring the delivery of high-quality Kinder Care/ child watch program to ensure customer satisfaction and safety for employees, members and visitors at Das Rec, New Braunfels Recreation Center. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. - Assists in ensuring the delivery of high quality and consistent programs and services to the community.
- Maintains order and organization of facility's childcare operations, programs, and processes.
- Ensure safety and hygienic environment in the childcare facility.
- Be responsive to parents to fulfill their childcare service needs.
- Prepares and assists in maintaining facilities including but not limited to DAS REC, New Braunfels Recreation Center to ensure a safe condition and to meet community needs; must be in compliance with the City's strategic objectives, policies and procedures, and State and Federal laws.
- Plan, organize and lead children in a range of interesting and enjoyable activities and games.
- Set up and clean as you go during activity sessions to create a pleasant, attractive and sanitary environment for participants.
- May be required to work hours outside of normal work schedule for staff meetings, trainings, extended program hours, parent nights or association events
- Monitors facility and equipment use by the public.
- Performs basic janitorial tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age AND Must have one (1) year experience working with children in a childcare setting and one (1) year customer service/public interaction experience.Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess or be able to obtain within two (2) weeks of employment: Community First Aid and Safety/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Requirements Required Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of customer service.
- Federal and State safety laws and regulations.

- Interpreting customer and facility needs and solving customer service and public relations issues.
- Analyzing problems, providing alternatives, and identifying solutions in support of established goals.

- Establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with City employees, facility lessees and guests, event sponsors and vendors, and the general public.
- Effective, clear and concise communication, both verbally and in writing.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed primarily indoors in all weather conditions, with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals; is subject to sitting, standing, bending and reaching for extended periods of time swimming, riding in or operating motorized or manually operated watercraft and must be able to safely pull, push, lift and carry items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to work irregular hours including weekdays, weekends, holidays and evenings.
- Must be willing to assist patrons.
- May be required to work immediately before, during or after an emergency or disaster.
