The Position A part-time Line Service Agent with Base Operations at Page Field is trained to perform a variety of customer-oriented tasks while providing ground handling services for private and business aircraft at Page Field. This position receives direction from the Shift Lead, Line Service Supervisor or Customer Service Supervisor, General Manager or other supervisory and/or management personnel with the Lee County Port Authority. The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with the public on a one-to-one basis, will have an attitude and put safety first at all times. This role requires the individual to focus on learning and performing specific technical hands-on service skills while safely handling high-value assets. The anticipated hourly starting rate for the ideal candidate is between $18.22 and $19.31.Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the safe arrival and departure of passengers, crew and aircraft on the Base Operations ramp
  • Operate fuel trucks and perform fueling of fixed and rotor wing aircraft, according to industry specifications and to the Lee County Port Authority fuel program and procedures.
  • Perform towing of aircraft on the ramp to secure tie-down areas and ready ramp locations, as well as into and out of hangars
  • Provide aircraft ground services including connecting ground power units, performing potable water and lavatory service, connecting aircraft pre-cooling and assisting with minor aircraft cleaning
  • Assist with daily fuel farm inspections, including performing pre-loading and fuel quality control checks, completing Fuel Quality Monitoring Systems (FQMS) online certification and ensuring records are accurate and up to date
  • Conduct airfield material condition inspections and advise shift lead and/or line service supervisor of all noted discrepancies
  • Respond to provide assistance with disabled aircraft on the airfield and other airport emergencies, as directed
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. A minimum of one year of work experience in related aviation or customer service experience preferred. Any combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform duties effectively, may be substituted
  • Possession of valid Florida driver's license is required
  • Must possess above-average customer service skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with others at all times
  • Position requires individual to work varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call scheduling, as necessary. Schedule restrictions may apply during seasonal timeframes
Emergency Response/Recovery Activities: Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees may be called to fulfill duties that are outside their normal scope of work to assist in resuming airport operations and flight activities. The FRS Pension Plan is a traditional defined benefit plan that offers you a guaranteed monthly benefit for life after the required vesting period. The FRS Investment Plan is a defined contribution plan that receives an employer contribution of 8.3% for regular class employees and 16% for special risk employees . Both are employee and employer-sponsored retirement plans. Lee County Port Authority employees eligible to participate in FRS are required to contribute 3% of each paycheck to FRS. If you have retired from the FRS pension plan, please be advised that you are not eligible for renewed membership in either of the FRS retirement plan options.Medical InsuranceThe Port Authority offers two plan choices for all full-time employees, their spouse and their dependents. Coverage begins the first of the month following their date of hire. Dental InsuranceThe Port Authority offers a dental plan for full time employees, their spouse and children.Vision InsuranceIf you are enrolled in the medical plan you and your family are eligible for basic vision coverage through vision discounts. Two more comprehensive plans are offered, including a basic vision plan and a vision 2 high option plan, paid entirely by the employee.Employee Assistance ProgramThe Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. This is the availability of licensed professional counselors for personal issues with 100% confidentiality.Flexible Spending Account(s)There are two types of reimbursement accounts: Medical and Dependent Care. It is optional and allows the employee to have pre tax dollars deducted from their paycheck for reimbursement of medical costs not covered by your plans or child care costs for children under 13.Life /AD & D InsuranceThe Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee. Employees are insured at an amount equal to the annual salary rounded to the next higher thousand dollars. The AD&D insurance provides additional coverage in the event the employee should lose their limb(s), eyesight or die.Optional Life InsuranceThe Port Authority provides the employee with an option to purchase additional life insurance coverage for him/herself, their spouse and their child(ren).Short Term DisabilityThe Port Authority provides the employee with short term disability coverage for him/herself at no cost to the employee.Long Term DisabilityThe Port Authority provides this benefit at no cost to the employee.
