General Information:
JMU's School of Professional & Continuing Education collaborates with individuals, business, and communities through transformative educational programs and experiences. SPCE offers a range of programs, including youth camps, adult degree completion, professional and workforce development, and lifelong learning, as well as partners with academic units across JMU to support a number of online or off-campus degree and certificate programs. This part-time role will provide essential support to SPCE's Youth Programs and the Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI). The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of programmatic, logistical, and administrative tasks to ensure the successful execution of events, courses, and activities across both programs. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities:
For SPCE's Youth Programs:
* Program Logistics: Coordinate logistics such as facility reservations, catering orders, transportation bookings, and supply purchases.
* Marketing & Promotion: Support marketing efforts through social media platforms and tools like Marketing Cloud. Assist with promoting upcoming events and courses to the community.
* Onsite Program Management: Assist with onsite activities including student/parent check-in and check-out, managing event flow, delivering materials to classrooms, and addressing participant needs during events.
For SPCE's Lifelong Learning Institute:
* Registration & Course Management: Assist with registration logistics, including creating name tags for participants, preparing instructor login credentials, and responding to inquiries from members.
* Program Support: Assist with course-related logistics, including making copies of course materials for instructors, processing transportation reservations for LLI trips, and helping coordinate with course committee chairpersons.
* Communication & Coordination: Liaise with course instructors, committee members, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of courses and events. Communicate changes, updates, or additional information as needed.
Qualifications:
* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Proficiency in using marketing and communication tools (e.g., social media platforms, Marketing Cloud).
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Customer service experience would be beneficial, with the ability to engage professionally with students, parents, and community members.

Conditions of Employment:
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
