Position Summary: Maintains kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition according to established sanitation and service standards.Essential Job Functions:
- Sets up the dishwashing area with racks, chemicals, supplies and carts
- Scrapes food from dirty dishes
- Places tableware in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine
- Washes pots, pans, and other cooking utensils and equipment
- Sweeps and mops kitchen and bar floors
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen or beverage areas as needed
- Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers
- Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
- Maintains the can wash area on loading dock in sanitary and neat condition
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- Organizes china, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment and utensils and supplies
- Follows sanitation and safety guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
Working Conditions:
- Regularly required to see, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; stand and walk
- Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequently required to stoop, crouch, or kneel
- Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor
- Exposure to high noise level
