Base Operations at Page Field is an award-winning, fixed-based operator and has been recognized for its customer service and facilities. A Terminal Expansion Project Phase 1 is currently underway at RSW to improve the airport travel experience by consolidating the security checkpoints, adding concession space and providing passengers more amenities and options. The Terminal Expansion Phase 2 Project began in fall 2024 and will add Concourse E with 14 gates, expand the Chiller Plant Facility, as well as make other associated terminal, landside and airside improvements.The Position The Lee County Port Authority Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the employees and passengers at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Page Field (FMY). We are dedicated to providing our employees with opportunities for growth, training and development, as well as ensuring they are equipped to meet the evolving challenges of airport security and law enforcement.The starting hourly rate for the ideal candidate is $20.08Key Responsibilities•Under general supervision, ensures the safe, convenient and efficient operation of terminal front passenger loading and unloading areas by monitoring and directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic; and relocating unattended vehicles as per airport security/safety regulations.•Directs traffic flow in the terminal areas while providing assistance and direction, informing passengers of alternates and provides high profile customer service to the traveling public.•Enforce parking regulations and issue citations. Assists law enforcement and other security personnel during emergency and non-emergency situations at the airport.Minimum Requirements•Must be at least 18 years old•Must have/obtain a valid Florida Driver's License•Must have a high school diploma•Must pass a physical/drug screeningEmergency Response/Recovery Activities: Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees may be called to fulfill duties that are outside their normal scope of work to assist in resuming airport operations and flight activities.Florida Retirement System (FRS)The employee has a choice of a pension or an investment plan. The FRS Pension Plan is a traditional defined benefit plan that offers you a guaranteed monthly benefit for life after the required vesting period. The FRS Investment Plan is a defined contribution plan that receives an employer contribution of 6.3% for regular class emloyees and 14% for special risk employees . Both are employee and employer-sponsored retirement plans. Lee County Port Authority employees eligible to participate in FRS are required to contribute 3% of each paycheck to FRS. If you have retired from the FRS pension plan, please be advised that you are not eligible for renewed membership in either of the FRS retirement plan options.Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holiday eligible
