Job Description :
JOB DESCRIPTIONThis position will report to both the Parts Manager and Service Manager. They will be responsible for filling in for the Parts Manager and Service Advisor during absences and assisting in those departments as needed with various projects.
  • Assist Parts Manager and Service Advisor with daily processes and procedures.
  • Back up for receiving and stocking of parts and materials.
  • Assists in conducting physical inventories.
  • Sorts freight for delivery.
  • Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
  • Prepare parts and/or service sales slips or sales contracts.
  • Assist customers, such as responding to customer complaints and updating them about back-ordered parts and service requests.
  • Assists in locating and labeling parts, maintain inventory of stock, mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
  • Discuss use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment.
  • Maintain and clean work and inventory areas.
  • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
  • Repair parts or equipment.
  • Assists in the diagnosis of equipment malfunctions and participates in major repairs as required.
  • Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, and tools used fabrication, repair, and operation.
  • Ability to meet customer needs in a consistently helpful and courteous manner.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of subordinate staff.
  • Ability to diagnose difficult or unusual vehicle and equipment malfunctions and to determine corrective measures.
  • Works and communicates with internal and external clients and customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner. Committed to quality service.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Good communication skills relative to customer service and support.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Math skills including good understanding of fractions.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and lift and move parts.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of scheduling and tracking systems.
