Salary: $59,519.00 Annually Location : Penn Valley, PA 19072 Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 24-00041 Department: Public Works Division: Fleet Maintenance Opening Date: 08/13/2024 Hours: 40-hour workweek Salary Schedule and Range: Schedule WA00 Range 02 Selection Criteria: Based on education, work experience, merit, training, employee record, testing and interview. Summary This is a responsible position within the Fleet Division. Responsibilities include organization and cost evaluation of fleet parts which include but are not limited to on-road/off-road heavy, medium, light duty trucks, construction equipment, parks maintenance equipment, and emergency response vehicles such as police vehicles and firetrucks. This position interfaces with using agencies, vendors, and internal/external customers. Work involves a concentration on operational support, customer relations, accountability, and cost quality of parts. Flexibility in job assignments is required. Works under the general supervision of the Fleet Supervisor, Fleet Crew Leader, and Fleet Operations Support Clerk. Duties Stocks inventory at cost efficient levels while maintaining appropriate services to shop operations. Designs, implements, and monitors an on-going cost quality purchasing program. Conducts cost quality and comparison studies. Maintains an effective parts catalog system. Manages warranty claims on parts. Manages a core exchange program. Prepares and conducts physical inventories on a quarterly basis. Responsible for the credibility of appropriate information on the repair orders. Provides timely and accurate support services to operational staff. Assists Fleet Operations Support Clerk as needed. Generates positive customer interactions. Provides various reports, including computer generated reports as necessary. Provides training, technical support and assistance to staff. Ensures security of parts facility and inventory. Maintains a professional facility appearance. Provides recommendations as needed to build and maintain exemplary quality parts facility. Utilizes fleet computer software programs for inventory control functions. Drives a variety of Township vehicles as needed to support fleet acquisition, maintenance and repair operations including transporting vehicles and equipment to supporting vendors. Assists with emergency events through coordination of resources and provides support as needed for the Fleet Division. Responsible for inner Public Works Department supply assignment and tracking such as personal protection equipment and tools. May be assigned to other Public Works divisions to perform required duties. Performs related work as required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, with four (4) years' experience working in an industrial or construction equipment parts distribution or similar environment. Automotive parts distribution will be considered depending on degree of experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to read and follow technical manuals. Considerable ability to follow oral and written instructions. Considerable ability to learn the operations of the department. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing at a technical and professional level. Excellent verbal communication skills, including excellent customer service skills. Ability to utilize computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software programs. Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, the general public and vendors. Demonstrated experience and ability to utilize fleet maintenance management software programs and other fleet related software programs. Ability to assist with workflow processes to ensure continuity of Fleet Division service delivery product to user departments. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for a minimum of 2 up to 8 hours and stand, walk and/or drive for a minimum of 1 up to 8 hours per workday. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, and push/pull for up to 35% of the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of tools, equipment, and materials for up to 68% of the workday and lift and carry up to 100 pounds of tools, materials, and equipment for up to 35% of the workday. Ability to use both hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation of equipment and objects. Ability to perform job functions using safety precautions where moving machinery may be present. Ability to drive automotive and construction equipment. Ability to perform job functions using safety precautions where environmental conditions may be challenging.
