Parts Clerk - S & H Trucking : Job Details

POSITION SUMMARY

The Parts Counterperson interacts with the Heavy-Duty Fleets, truck drivers and repair shops. This position is responsible for assisting the customer to understand their parts needs, look up those parts and all associated needed components. Offer alternative parts when the need is assessed or the customer requests. Asks for the sale, fills the order and pulls the parts for the customer when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists on the phone or in person in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Assists orders Focuses on offering the right part the first time, accuracy is critical. Finds all needed parts for the job they are performing. Keeps a list of and Follows up on all back-ordered parts daily Notifies the proper person when a needed part is not in stock to ensure stocking levels are correct. May place emergency orders as needed with the approval of the Shop Manager. Follows Company policy and procedure, ensures all invoices / orders / confirmations are approved and signed. Ensures parts storage area is kept clean, stocked and orderly. Ensures all paperwork is documented Keeps all work areas clean, orderly and free or clutter Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

• Reports to the Shop Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Experience in Parts counter duties (Researching part numbers, stocking,) Functional knowledge of truck dealership Parts Operations Computer Experience

• Ability to work with others in a team environment and fosters healthy working relationships Ability to give and take directions in a fast-paced work environment Stays focused on and completes assigned tasks in a timely manner Consistency in reinforcing defined activities that drive desired results Customer friendly appearance and mannerism, Represent the company in a professional manner
