Summary This position is responsible for the selling of parts for internal repair orders and business clients and maintaining a high knowledge of all parts. Employee fulfills primary responsibilities through clear communication, customer service skills and a strong work ethic. Primary Responsibilities
- Offer top notch customer service in-person and on the phone for both customers and internal team members
- Work daily in various programs: Reynolds, CCC, Snap-On, OEC
- Ability to move quickly through each program
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding OEM and competitor parts
- Assist in the unloading of the Parts' deliveries each morning
- Help sort and organize inventory
- Display professionalism at all times, through appearance, body language, behaviors and communication
- Act in accordance with MMT 4 C's
Retail Parts Associate
- Assist Technician team by providing/ordering parts for open repair orders
- Assist with looking up part and verifying all needed accessory parts
- Add correct parts to open R.O. tickets
- Create and edit R.O.'s
- Locate Parts in warehouse and pass off to technician
- Order parts as necessary
- Answer questions regarding parts
Wholesale Parts Associate
- Sell Parts to Wholesale Clients
- Answer incoming phone calls and build relationships with repeat vendors
- Locate or order needed parts
- Responsible for Collision Links and all estimating orders through CCC
- Assists with internal Body Shop team as well as local shops
- Assist Part's Driver with routes during peak times
- Coordinates daily delivery routes for all parts orders
Requirements
- Previous experience in automotive parts sales, retail, or customer service is preferred.
- Familiarity with dealership operations and service departments is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of automotive parts, their functions, and compatibility.
- Ability to utilize computer systems and digital inventory management software (experience with specific dealership management systems is a plus).
- Experience in effectively communicating parts availability, pricing, and delivery options to customers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage inventory efficiently.
- Attention to detail in processing orders and maintaining records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the service department, technicians, and other staff to ensure parts are ordered and delivered in a timely manner.
- Capability to navigate challenges and provide effective solutions quickly.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy parts (sometimes up to 50 lbs) and perform tasks that may include physical movement and standing for extended periods.
- Certification: ASE certification in Parts Specialist or similar training is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management systems.
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) Systems: Familiarity with retail or dealership POS systems for processing transactions.
- Positive attitude and approachability; a customer-focused mindset is essential.
- Strong work ethic and reliability; punctuality and consistency in attendance.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new products, technologies, and dealership policies.
