Specifically the parts counterperson:
- Assist all customers both retail and shop in selecting required parts. Share the cost and availability of the parts.
- Inform customer of companion part requirements and specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
- Participates in the coordination of orders being pulled and filled from the warehouse to their customer.
- Provides information to Parts Manager and Buyer on out-of-stock products.
- Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source.
- Follows up on back-ordered parts.
- Solicits assigned accounts by phone or email.
- Logs lost sales in Procede to track demand.
- Participates in all training programs made available in order to keep current on new products and product updates.
Maintains professional appearance.QualificationsEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:A high school diploma or equivalent required with basic knowledge of truck/auto components.
- Excellent communication skills and must speak English.
- High school business math.
- Knowledge of and ability to work on a computer.
- General mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Specifically:
- Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, reach and lift.
- Must be able to carry 10 to 50 pounds 70% of the work time; 51 to 90 pounds 20% of the work time; and 100 plus pounds 10% of the work time.
