Summary This is a full time position that is responsible for purchasing, storing, and issuing spare parts for motor vehicles or industrial equipment by performing the following duties. Responsibilities
- Communicates with shop foreman and/or mechanics to order parts as required.
- Reads shop manuals and parts catalogs to ascertain type and specification of part.
- Contacts suppliers by phone, online, or in person to obtain parts and supplies as directed by supervisor.
- Compares invoices against requisition to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received. Codes invoices for cost accounting.
- Stores purchased parts in storeroom bins and issues parts to workers as required.
- Keeps records of parts received and issued, and inventories as directed.
- Records repair time expended by mechanics.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and vendors.
- Proficiency in basic math; including fractions, percentages, etc.
- Ability to identify cross reference material.
- Basic computer skills with Excel and Word experience preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
