Job Description :

The Pastry Cook will maintain a superior production of breads, sweets, pastries, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, fresh fruit jams, chocolates, etc. for the restaurant, special events, amenities and banquets. This position has an hourly rate of $32.09. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend meetings when designated to do so
  • Work to ensure we never run out of menu items
  • Ensure all products are produced in a timely manner
  • Accurately execute recipes and scaling for all items produced
  • Responsible for the quality of breads, pastries and any prepared food coming from the pastry area
  • Maintain pastry production sheet and follow through with assigned prep items
  • Perform daily dry storage, walk-in refrigerator, and freezers inspected each of your shifts to ensure it is clean, and all pastry related items are put away properly
  • Be aware of food cost by effectively scaling ingredients, minimizing wastage, and preventing theft
  • Be effective and productive, there is always something to do
  • Ensure that sanitation, hygiene and safety standards are met
  • Proper food storage and handling techniques must be used at all times by all staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
  • Ensure a safe working environment by proper use of equipment, being proactive in accident prevention and diligent in eliminating safety hazards
  • Communicate respectfully, be supportive, and always work as a team
  • Be professional in all interactions with guests and staff
  • Be flexible with your schedule and willing to work until the job is done
  • Communicate with Pastry Chef for all time off requests and scheduling
  • Adhere to all guidelines in the employee handbook
  • Perform other task or projects as assigned by Management
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have culinary degree
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience in a pastry position
  • Thorough knowledge in pastry arts and techniques
  • Experience in chocolate making
  • Positive, engaging, and energetic personality
  • Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Sensitive to cultural nuances
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Multi-lingual is a plus
