Bonjour! I am looking for an enthusiastic team member to join my small, growing team as a Pastry Chef de Partie.
I recently opened Atelier Ariana, a café and pâtisserie in the heart of Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. It is a space to bring French-inspired foods, teas, and coffees to Brooklyn. My menus feature seasonal, unique recipes fully made in-house.
An ideal candidate will see the value in artisanal products and be eager to learn and grow as a chef.
REQUESTED SKILLS:
- Must have experience with viennoiseries
- Can read and follow recipes
- Is punctual and reliable
- Works well in a team, as well as independently
- Knowledge of classical French pastry techniques
- Skilled in using scales, dough sheeter, thermometers (for confiseries), and other specialty pastry equipment
- Must be adaptable and enthusiastic about preparing a variety of recipes during the course of a shift
- Certificate in Food Protection
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report to head chef to determine daily tasks
- Work efficiently to execute a variety of recipes: viennoiseries, entremets, tea cakes, tarts, cookies, etc
- Maintain clean working environments; clean kitchens thoroughly at the end of shift
- Adhere to food and safety guidelines
- Assist in maintaining all relevant ingredient inventory
- Communicate with front of house to maintain appropriate inventory levels of products for display
- Adapt to the changing and growing needs of this small business as needed
- Availability to work shifts Wednesday-Sunday until fully trained; work shifts will then move to Friday-Tuesday
