Responsible for implementing and managing Patient Access' strategic and operational objectives. Serves as a subject matter expert in Patient Access functions. Performs complex assignments with minimal direction from Supervisor/Manager/Director. Has input with hiring, and corrective action of staff members. Create a positive impression for each patient, family member, visitor or staff while performing the tasks of pre-admitting, admitting and/or registering, routing or escorting patients, family or visitors. The Lead may interview patients or relatives to obtain demographic and financial information required to complete the registration/admission and record the information in the electronic record system. Counsel patients regarding their financial obligation and collection of monies owed for medical services. The lead may verify insurance benefits; explain financial requirements to the patient or patient representative and collect the outstanding patient portion prior to or at the point of service. Research and handling patient complaints related to billing Primary Responsibilities Include: reception, registration, insurance verification, cash collections, phone management, order transcription, customer service, problem solving, workflow management and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • HS Diploma or GED Required
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Windows XP, Windows 7, utilization of website search engines. 1 year of progressive leadership experience (preferably in a healthcare setting), preferred 3 year of health care experience, preferred Previous work history that demonstrates office experience in a healthcare environment. Prior experience with electronic systems such as Epic Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology 3-5 years customer service experience, preferred
  • Credential: CHAA Source: NAHAM designation to be achieved within 1 year of accepting the job.

Physical Requirements Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly

Pay Range:

$22.65 - $37.32 / hour
