RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities:

RiverView Health has an opening for a full time (80 hours every 2 weeks) Patient Access Representative - Clinic. This position would cover shifts between 7 a.m. 7 p.m. in our Crookston Clinic and would have a weekend rotation. The Patient Access Representative:

  • Answers the phones and schedules patients.
  • Greets and registers patients while collecting and entering all information required to accurately check in the visit.
  • Communicates directly with patients and families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies.
  • Performs system insurance verification either real time electron or manual verification for eligibility.
  • Performs collection, at point of service, of co-pays and payments.
  • Obtains signatures for all necessary documents.
  • Safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.
  • This position will also be cross trained over to the Emergency Department to help cover Patient Access responsibilities in that area as needed.

Salary range is $19.01 - $26.62 per hour and starting wage is dependent on experience and shift differential is paid for working evening or night shifts.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience is required.
  • Experience in Patient Access and/or Epic is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance preferred.
