STATEMENT OF PURPOSEUtilizing the computer system features, download, receive, review, verify, prepare, balance and post all accounts receivable payments and adjustments related to hospital and clinic accounts. Prepare and maintain accounts receivable related records.This position performs provider enrollment into the payer plans JRMC bills for utilizing various on-line tools and communicates closely with insurance companies.JOB FUNCTIONS•Receive and process accounts receivable checks and other mail. Identify appropriate hospital and/or clinic accounts to ensure accurate application of payments received. Prepare receipt form and follows up on mail.•Imports data files from third party processing.•Process credit card payments.•Posts private and insurance payments and adjustments.•Issue letters and other correspondence as appropriate following credit and collection policies.•Researches and maintains current practices regarding Medicare, Medicaid and insurance information changes which may impact payment processes and refunds.•Researches and prepares refunds to be issued to patient and/or insurance companies on over payments.•Assists PFS team with small balance workque.•Works Clearing House accounts.•Works with accounting to assure accurate handling of all funds.•Works with Patient Accounts Coordinator to assist with reconciliation of collection agency accounts.•Processes and records auto withdrawal and payment deductions.•Follows up on problems that may arise with guarantor discrepancies, etc.•Monitors miscellaneous accounts and assist with corporate billing.•Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.•Develop a thorough understanding and working knowledge of JRMC credit and collection policies and procedures.•Prepare and maintains collection related records.•Assist Patient Accounts Coordinator to identify delinquent accounts and prepare for collection specialist or collection agency as appropriate.•Performs provider enrollment, working closely with professionals to fill out numerous enrollment forms, keeping information confidential. Communicates with insurance companies regarding the status of enrollment. Performs all re-enrollment activities for all providers. Monitors that the enrollment processes correctly. Contacts insurance companies if our claims begin denying due to enrollment issues and fixes those problems.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: (AR Specialist/Provider Enrollment)1. PREPARATION AND TRAINING Requires associate degree or completion of high school education and 2 or more years of collection experience. Minimum typing speed 50 wpm required.2. WORK EXPERIENCE Two or more years of collection or clerical experience depending on education which demonstrates progressively more responsibility required; three months on-the-job training.3. ATTENDANCE Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at JRMC. Employee are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees are also expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule.4. Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. Visual acuity necessary for performing routine procedures.10. WORKING CONDITIONS Works in well-lit office with some inconvenience caused by crowded work area; area subject to temperature discomforts and noise. May be required/requested to work on shifts other than the one for which hired. Participates in and complies with JRMC Safety Management Program. Maintains knowledge of and observes Standard Precautions. Practices aseptic techniques whenever appropriate.
