POSITION SUMMARYProvides support and encouragement to adhere to program policies and procedures, provides assistance in treatment and recovery plan development. Their duties are essentially to supplement the support in a non-clinical manner.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acclimates all new patients, reviewing procedures, expectations, etc. for first few days at Wellbridge to ensure a successful transition into treatment.
- Facilitates daily community meeting.
- Participates in interdisciplinary staff meetings and conferences.
- Accompanies patients to appointments as approved by clinical team.
- Works with participants to identify strengths.
- Educates program participants about various modes of recovery.
- Works in conjunction with clinicians/therapists, etc., to engage patients who are considering leaving AMA.
- Works with nursing and counselor assistant staff to ensure that all patients are attending assigned groups and arriving on time.
- Assists in the continuous development of the Wellbridge alumni group, encouraging participation, scheduling speakers, hosting events, etc., to keep prior patients engaged in order to help ensure a successful transition upon leaving Wellbridge.
- Assists with follow up for discharged patients.
- Provides feedback from patient experience on program content and suggestions.
- Informs patients about community and natural supports and how to use these in the recovery process. Assists patients with development of recovery plans.
- Models coping skills.
- Provides non-clinical crisis support.
- Familiar with contemporary medications for addiction treatment and works collaboratively with medical approaches to care.
- Maintains records in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or CRPA-P preferred.
- CPR certified or obtained within six months of hire.
- Have knowledge and understanding of alcoholism or addiction.
- Six months experience working in a direct client/patient environment.
