Patient Ambassador Emergency Department, UHS Wilson Medical Center United Health Services is seeking a Patient Ambassador Emergency Department to join our Main Tower Emergency Department department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible.

$16.35 - $21.49 per hour, depending on experience.

Overview

The ED Patient Ambassador contributes to a great Patient Experience by providing non-medical care within the Emergency Department. The ED Patient Ambassador will provide a warm welcoming first impression to United Health Services by providing assistance to all patients and visitors who enter the Emergency Departments. They will facilitate continuous communication with patients, families, Emergency Department Staff, and Access Care Staff to improve and expedite Patient Centered Care. The ED Patient Ambassador will recognize potential crisis situations, advocate for security involvement when needed, and act as a liaison between the waiting room and the main ED. The shift for this opening is 6pm-2:30am. The ideal candidate will have the ability to remain standing and walking for long periods of time. This person must be friendly and able to start conversations with our patients.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

+ Previous Customer Service Experience

+ Training as a Security Officer

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

+ CPR certification within three (3) months of hire
