Please note, this link is only accessible for MSK employees.Job DescriptionExciting Opportunity at MSK: Patient Billing SpecialistRole Overview:* Handles patient inquiries via calls, emails, and referrals, ensuring complete issue resolution and prioritizing excellent service.* Discusses outstanding balances with sensitivity; refers patients to Financial Assistance Program and decides on balance write-offs when necessary.* Provides cost estimates for clinical services, communicates charges to patients, and facilitates payment arrangements.* Coordinates with insurance carriers for information, appeals, and patient education on coverage, limitations, and responsibilities.* Adheres to privacy and billing standards; reports non-compliance to management.* Resolves account issues, updates billing systems, processes payments/write-offs, and monitors accounts for accurate follow-up.* Identifies trends in inquiries, proposes solutions, and participates in projects to enhance patient experience and increase revenue.* Collaborates with teams and gathers feedback to improve processes and service quality.Role Overview:* Provide guidance to patients via various communication channels.* Calculate the cost of care and resolve outstanding balances.* Contribute to process improvement initiativesCore Skills:* Results-oriented, highly organized, and able to perform accurately under pressure.* Skilled in professional, persuasive, and diplomatic communication to satisfy patients.* Knowledgeable about third-party claims processing and reimbursement.Additional Information:Location: Hybrid; 3-4 times a month at NYC locationsSchedule: 8:00AM - 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (when onsite) and 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM (when working from home)Reporting to: Supervisor, Patient Financial ServicesPay Range: $27.80-$43.08Helpful Links:* MSK Compensation Philosophy* Review Our Greats Benefits OfferingsClosingMSK is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
