Our collaboration is focused on increasing access to care through a growing network of leading specialists and revolutionizing healthcare to save lives and improve the health of the communities we serve.ResponsibilitiesPerforms a variety of routine tasks to support the delivery of safe, effective, cost‐efficient patient care as delegated bythe RN. They provide assistance in transporting, transferring and lifting. They perform cleaning Functions in patient careunit as delegated, and perform selected diagnostic tests.ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvides direct patient care as delegated by RN staffMonitors and records vital signsAssists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needsAccurately measures, records, and reports intake and outputObtains and records daily weightPerforms blood glucose testing using blood glucose meterReports changes in patient's status promptly to RNPerforms as sitter or patient care companion when neededAssists in the admission, transfer and discharge processPerforms unit housekeeping needs.Delivers specimens, picks up medications and other itemsActs as receptionist for unit; has limited use of the hospital information systems according to hospital policydependent on the need of unitChecks and documents refrigerator temperatures as delegated, reporting variances to appropriate personnelUpdates assigned bed statusAnswers call lights and telephoneKeeps patient environment clean, Performs comfort rounds, keeps hallways clear of obstruction, reports safetyissues and broken equipment appropriately, and adheres to patient safety precautionsCommunicates with patient's family, physicians, and unit personnel and peers in an accurate, courteous, andprofessional mannerPerforms phlebotomy and 12 lead EKGs as permitted on the assigned unitRemoves saline locksQualificationsRequired Education, Experience and CertificationsHS diploma/GED requiredBLS required*1 year direct patient care experience or graduated from an accredited school of nursingRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training*Good written/oral communication skills*Completion of PCA II orientation/trainingPay Range$14.82 - $20.38 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
