Job Overview

The Patient Care Assistant provides supportive services to the patients and units as directed by the nursing staff and health unit coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

* Transports patients to affiliate-Mass. General (direct connecting tunnel access)

* Taking patient's vital signs; assist patient with dressing/undressing; also responsible for grooming, bathing and cream/scar massage as appropriate to the patient

* Assist nursing staff with patient feedings

* Ensuring each unit is well stocked with the needed supplies daily

* Cleans and prepares reusable patient items and equipment

* Transports specimens to hospital laboratories

* Transports patients to affiliate-MGH (direct connecting tunnel access)

* Back up to the Health Unit Coordinator; assisting with telephone coverage as needed

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.Certified Nursing Certification is required.

Previous pediatric experience in a hospital or medical setting required.
