Key Responsibilities - Provide essential patient care, assisting with hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and safety in line with established guidelines.
- Document patient information accurately in records, ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
- Upon patient admission, complete required documentation and orientation to the facility, ensuring they receive necessary items.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights, maintaining a supportive and attentive environment.
- Perform regular rounds and reposition patients every two hours while assisting seated patients every hour.
- Measure and report vital signs and weights accurately to the Charge Nurse.
- Apply necessary support devices and specialty care items as per physician directions.
- Maintain proper documentation of intake and output and communicate pertinent information during shift changes.
- Assist with prescribed procedures and maintain adequate supplies and equipment on the unit.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through educational opportunities and embrace increased responsibilities as assigned.
- Foster effective relationships with team members and ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Provide thorough reports to the Charge Nurse at shift changes and complete cross-shift handovers effectively.
Qualifications - High school diploma preferred, but not required.
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in your working state.
- CPR certification required or willingness to obtain within six months.
- Long-term care experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to manage time effectively and organize tasks to meet productivity standards.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and transfer patients weighing over 200 lbs with proper techniques and assistance when necessary.
- Ability to maneuver equipment weighing more than 40 lbs properly.
- Excellent manual dexterity and coordination in patient care activities.
- Competence in maintaining written documentation either by hand or using a recording device.
- Visual acuity to distinguish colors accurately.
Pay range: $16.08 - $25.24 per hour
