The Patient Care Assistant is a trained medical professional skilled in a variety of routine administrative and clinical tasks, helping to ensure our medical centers run smoothly. This role is essential in supporting our physician-led Care Team in delivering high-quality primary care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure and record patient vital signs and take medical histories.
• Communicate patient needs to healthcare professionals.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with routine screening tests.
• Monitor patients and report any changes in conditions.
• Perform various medical and therapeutic procedures as directed.
• Administer medications and provide first aid when needed, under physician supervision.
• Ensure medical supplies and equipment are properly maintained and sterilized.
• Manage patient communications, including phone messages and prescription refills.
• Support patients in making healthy lifestyle choices through health coaching.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable training required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical setting is preferred; clinical rotation training may be considered.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
• Experience with geriatric patients is a plus.
• Familiarity with EMR systems is preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is an advantage.
