PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE - Jamaica Hospital : Job Details

DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of unit Registered Nurse Staff, selected candidate will assist with the routine care of assigned patients. Typical duties may include but not be limited to:

• Bathing patients
• Changing patients' bed sheets, and pillows, and turning or repositioning patients in their beds
• Helping patients dress or use the bathroom
• Listening to patients' health concerns, recording them, and reporting them to a nurse or physician
• Serving meals to patients and helping them eat
• Performing EKG
• Measuring patients' vitals, such as temperature and blood pressure

Requirements

• Must have a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or Certified Patient Care Assistant certification AND
• Current/recent experience performing Phlebotomy and 12-Lead EKG testing.
• Prior experience working as a Patient Care Associate or Patient Care Technician preferred
• BLS certificate from American Heart Association
• High School Diploma or GED certificate.
• Basic computer skills
