Patient Care Representative | Pain Solutions (Full time, with Benefits) - Memorial Hospital : Job Details

What You'll Do:

80 hours per pay period, 1st Shift, M-F

* Handle Communication: Answer phones, record messages, and greet patients and visitors with a welcoming demeanor.

* Manage Appointments: Prepare charts, schedule and confirm appointments and procedures, ensuring all relevant information is obtained and entered accurately.

* Coordinate Insurance and Payments: Obtain prior authorizations from insurance carriers, reconcile patient charges, and collect payments in applicable clinics.

* Assist with Ancillary Services: Help patients schedule appointments for radiology, physical, and occupational therapy, and other ancillary services.

* Maintain Schedule Accuracy: Ensure daily schedules are accurate and accessible to staff and physicians.

* Support Registration: Assist with patient registration for treatment and testing, and enter accurate demographic information.

* Project Professionalism: Perform assigned duties while consistently projecting a positive and professional image through appearance and behavior.

What You'll Bring:

* Educational Background: High school diploma with coursework or experience indicating basic knowledge of patient care techniques and medical terminology. An Associate's Degree in Medical Secretarial Sciences, Coding, or a related field is preferred.

* Experience: At least six months of clerical experience in a healthcare setting, including familiarity with filing and retrieval methods, general office practices, and coding.

* Certifications: Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred. You must attain and maintain American Heart Association's BLS certification within six months of employment.

* Skills: Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential.
