Position InformationJob Title Patient Care Specialist Department Office of Practice Pay Grade 8 Job Category Support Staff Job SummaryEast Tennessee State University, College of Nursing, is seeking a full-time Patient Care Specialist at the Johnson City Community Health Center (JCCHC), a state-of-the-art facility on par with any of its kind in the United States. Funded by a generous grant from the U.S. Department of Health Resources and Services Administration, it was established through the vision of leaders at ETSU, the College of Nursing and the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, all of whom are dedicated to providing access to basic health care services for all in our community and region.Eligible for $1500 Sign-On Bonus - $500 after 30 days. $1000 after 6-months of continued employment within the CON OOP department as an initial sign-on bonus. A sign-on bonus is not eligible when transferring or being promoted to a new position within the CON OOP.The Patient Care Specialist works under general supervision of the Nurse Manager performing clinical duties.Work performed involves knowledge of the basic principles and practices of nursing, and a variety of tasks in an ambulatory health care setting including:* Assisting professional nurses in all aspects of clinical care* Administering injections* Performing EKG's* Gathering specimens* Assisting with special procedures and general workups* Performing other related non-professional nursing and clerical duties as required.The value of employment at ETSU goes far beyond salary.
