- UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

Responsibilities
The Patient Care Tech works in partnership with the licensed nurse to support the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing.
Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated tasks for age specific populations under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Record data as directed by policy and procedure, and reports observations and patient concerns to the licensed nurse.
Duties of a PCT include, but may not be limited to, obtaining vital signs; Assisting patients with basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and eating and other ADLs; Collecting specimens for lab tests; and assistance with monitoring of patients.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification required, or may be in senior year of nursing school with less than one semester to complete the nursing program.
- Must maintain active certification with in the State of Texas.
- BLS required - must have certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.
- Training, education and competencies completed annually for any additional duties required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 2- year experience in acute care hospital or long term care facility preferred
