Patient Care Technician Program Coordinator/InstructorTrinity, a comprehensive university in the nation's capital, offering a broad range of educational programs that prepare students across the lifespan for the intellectual, ethical and spiritual dimensions of contemporarywork, civic and family life seeks a dynamic Coordinator for the Patient Care Technician Program in the School of Nursing and Health Professions.Qualifications:
- Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia
- An associate degree in nursing required. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Experience teaching adults and supervising nursing assistants.
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Teaching experience in CNA or PCT programs preferred.
- Minimum of two-three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse and providing direct patient care during the past five (5) years, and
- Current knowledge of nursing practice at the patient care technician level.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer
- Provide all essential administrative duties associated with the coordinator position, e.g., teaching, curriculum design, providing classroom/course management, information to faculty and students, specifically in accordance with Chapter 97 of the DCMR
- In discussion with the Chief Nursing Officer, assists in determining budget needs for program
- Mentor adjunct instructors or new instructors as assigned.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through reading professional publications and attending workshops and conferences as appropriate.
- Has knowledge of working with students with disabilities and coordinating services.
- Assists with selection of physical and affiliating clinical facilities for the clinical rotation of students.
- Prepares necessary materials for regulatory agencies.
- Provides for program evaluation and changes as necessary for program.
- Maintains familiarity with standards and requirements of accrediting agencies.
