Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates,Summary of Job Purpose:To perform and deliver patient care activities and related non-professional services for assigned hospital patients as directed by registered professional nurses or licensed practical nurses. Population served based on scope of services in the department.Essential Job Responsibilities:Provides daily physical and emotional care to patients; i.e. bathing, toileting, feeding, ambulating, etc.Answers call lights in timely fashionAssists licensed personnel as directed.Accuracy in obtaining vs., ht, wt, i/o, and other procedures as per competency.Maintains a safe and clean environment, utilizing appropriate infection control techniques. (patient room, utility room, unit)Recognizes when to seek help from licensed personnel, i.e., .changes in patient conditionTransports patients as neededProvides input to the interdisciplinary health care team.Acts as a preceptor to all new Nurse Assistants and orientee Nurse Assistants.Demonstrates use of appropriate body mechanics.Displays analytical and basic problem solving skills. Communicates problems to manager as appropriate.Follows all time and attendance policies.Attends educational programs provided by the Hospital or those which are outside the Hospital that are related to job responsibilitiesEssential Job Qualifications:Education:High School graduate or equivalencyExperience:Nursing home or acute care experience preferredTraining;BLS within 30 days of hire.Working Conditions:Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterityOccupational: Significant occupational riskPhysical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
