UPMC Western Maryland High-Level Care is looking for a full time Patient Care Technician or CNA! This is a full-time dayshift position that requires rotating weekend and holiday shifts.
Job Responsibilities:
Document medical records and perform clerical tasks.
Support departmental changes, projects, and quality initiatives.
Adhere to patient care policies and safety procedures.
Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
Apply and monitor patient restraints as needed.
Receive and act on feedback for continuous improvement.
Report equipment issues and maintain interdepartmental communication.
Perform core nursing assistant tasks and additional advanced skills as required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must also have either
1 Year of general healthcare experience, OR
6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved with 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion, OR
enrollment in PT/OT/PA program or related healthcare training program with completion of at least one clinical rotation, OR
completion of a bachelors degree in a health sciences field.
Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class? Successful completion of basic information system training.
Microcomputer experience preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic or currently enrolled in an EMT or Paramedic program preferred.
Access to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse.
Certified Nursing Assistant
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
