**UPMC Western Maryland High-Level Care is looking for a full time Patient Care Technician or CNA! This is a full-time dayshift position that requires rotating weekend and holiday shifts.**
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Document medical records and perform clerical tasks.
+ Support departmental changes, projects, and quality initiatives.
+ Adhere to patient care policies and safety procedures.
+ Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
+ Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
+ Apply and monitor patient restraints as needed.
+ Receive and act on feedback for continuous improvement.
+ Report equipment issues and maintain interdepartmental communication.
+ Perform core nursing assistant tasks and additional advanced skills as required.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Must also have either
+ 1 Year of general healthcare experience, OR
+ 6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved with 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion, OR
+ enrollment in PT/OT/PA program or related healthcare training program with completion of at least one clinical rotation, OR
+ completion of a bachelors degree in a health sciences field.
+ Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class? Successful completion of basic information system training.
+ Microcomputer experience preferred.
+ Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
+ Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic or currently enrolled in an EMT or Paramedic program preferred.
+ Access to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse.
+ Certified Nursing Assistant
**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
