Summary of Job Duties:The Orthopedic & Spine Hospital (TOSH), UAMS Health's brand-new surgical hospital is looking for passionate patient care technicians who are ready to join a team that's redefining quality care. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a trained member of the unit-based team who supports the ongoing delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team. The PCT works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties that do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards. The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures standards, and guest care guidelines.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma OR GED PLUS successful completion of PCT course within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities:
Assists with moving equipment and beds in and out of rooms.
Sets up, troubleshoots, and assists staff with equipment problems in operating rooms.
Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
Communicates with operating room staff to plan for and coordinate equipment needs for individual cases. Coordinates outside service from equipment vendors.
Adheres to safety standards related to equipment and electrical safety, infection control, and OSHA requirements.
Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment.
Orders supplies as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
