Salary: $50,000-60,000 per year

Schedule: Full time; Monday through Friday afternoon shifts with rotating weekends. More details are available upon interviewing.

Requirement: Must have some management and healthcare experience.

Job Summary

As a Patient Flow Manager, you will be responsible for the effective leadership of about 90 patient transporters and constant observers at Columbia St. Mary's, a 400+ bed hospital. You will supervise associates, complete rounds, meet with clients, conduct presentations, and provide the highest possible level of quality service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Understands and applies knowledge of basic patient transport and concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.

+ Understands and determines, explains, and develops dispatcher logic and transporter activities; monitors and supervises dispatcher activity.

+ Assists in coordination of Patient Transportation activities and services with other departments; develops service agreements as appropriate.

+ Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies including but not limited to Federal, State, JCAHO, OSHA, and CDC.

+ Orients, trains, and develops all levels of personnel such as, dispatchers, trainers, transporters, couriers, drivers, and elevator operators.

+ Assists unit director in achieving financial objectives, ensures department operates within budget, and assists controlling departmental expenses.

+ Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ Must have management or supervisory experience

+ Healthcare experience preferably in a hospital environment

+ Patient transportation or patient sitter experience is a plus

+ Analytical ability to interpret statistical data and to distinguish trends and other factors that impact operational activity.

+ Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.

+ Ability to troubleshoot system problems related to computer or software systems and initiate internal or external resolution to system issues.
