From working with a team of dedicated professionals to using innovative facilities, you'll have phenomenal resources to do something incredible â for yourself, and for others.What will you be doing in this role?As a Patient Mobility Specialist at Cedars-Sinai, you will take a leadership role in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of education programs/projects related to Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) initiatives for patients, personnel, and the community across the healthcare continuum. You will work closely with the nursing staff to implement and ensure the appropriate lifting techniques and machinery for patients are being applied. Your responsibilities will include providing education that is consistent with California legislative code AB 1136 for safe patient handling, as well as other relevant standards and guidelines. Additionally, you will identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment and prevent patient and staff injury.Assist the team in completing diverse tasks to optimize operational efficiency.Develop curriculum for safe patient handling training and equipmentProvide and document usage of safe patient handling equipmentProvide experienced care and patient education on safe patient handling equipmentRespond to requests from nursing staff within 15 minutesSupport and assist special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgroundsIdentify patient's readiness for learning and ability to receive instructions and give consentMake special adjustments as required to meet the specific population needsAdhere to CSMC policy for Safe Patient Handling and relevant legislative requirementsCollaborate with the nursing team to determine patient's current mobility level and provide input on the type of equipment to useAdvocate for a 'no manual lifting' culture in the medical centerPerform department rounding to ensure equipment and linens availability and functionalityPerform all other assigned dutiesCollaborate to problem solve and make decisions to achieve desired outcomesEstablish effective working relationships with cross-functional teamsRespond timely and effectively to deliverablesShare knowledge and expertise to assist other team membersCultivate and maintain strong customer relationships and rapportEnsure practices and procedures are inclusive of interpersonal and cultural diversityIdentify and respond appropriately to both internal and external customer needsRepresent the company with external constituentsQualificationsYou'll be successful with the following qualifications:High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor's Degree highly preferred)Three (3) years of experience in direct patient care (EMT, CNA, Lift Team, patient education preferred)Basic Life Support Certification (BCLS) approved by the American Heart AssociationExpertise with lift equipment and devices to mobilize patients safelyDemonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, curriculum development, outcome study methodology, data management implementation, and evaluationWillingness to actively engage in opportunities for continuous learning, such as attending conferences, workshops, and relevant training sessions.Req ID: 6615Working Title: Patient Mobility Specialist - Safe Patient Handling - 12-Hour - Full Time - NightsDepartment: Safe Patient HandlingBusiness Entity: Cedars-Sinai Medical CenterJob Category: Patient ServicesJob Specialty: Transport ServicesOvertime Status: NONEXEMPTPrimary Shift: NightShift Duration: 12 hourBase Pay: $27.10 - $42.01#J-18808-Ljbffr
