POSITION SUMMARY: Performs clerical, organizational and communication functions. The patient placement specialist coordinates the bed assignment of all patients admitted to SRMC, based on medical and emotional needs of the patient as well as the needs and specifications of the patient care units. The incumbent may perform other related duties, major or minor, that are not otherwise mentioned, and specific functions may change from time to time. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: 1. Minimum Required Graduate from an accredited program for Practical Nursing. Currently licensed as an LPN in North Carolina.#Incumbent will be required to attain BLS certification and NCI within 3 months of hire; recertification required annually. Proficient in keyboard operations and basic computer applications. Ability to operate standard office machines. Preferred: Proficient with electronic medical records. ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Must demonstrate competence in the coordination of patient admission, and in the application of procedures. Acts as first response to telephone admission and bed availability inquiries and directs inquiries to the responsible individual.
