We care for your career while caring for the community.SUMMARYHospital professional will be responsible for the comprehensive servicing of GH patients with a focus on the critical aspects of patient registration including making an empathetic first impression, soliciting personal health information, answering sensitive patient questions/concerns, insurance verification, co-payments scheduling and pre access for the entire hospital. Individual will also share work in the hospitals telephone switchboard.We are seeking dedicated healthcare professionals to join our team at Gouverneur Hospital. Gouverneur Hospital is certified for 25 beds and services include inpatient detox, substance use disorder rehabilitation, emergency care, imaging and EKG's, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Gouverneur HospitalDEPARTMENT: Patient RegistrationSCHEDULE: 8 hour, VariableATTRIBUTESRequired: High School or GED. Ability to accurately type and enter data into an electronic medical recordPreferred: Advanced technical training. Advanced degree above high school.RESPONSIBILITIESRegistration for all areas of hospital Insurance verification, errors, and co pays and account payments, financial counseling.Switchboard coverage, alarm activations, paging and answering serviceScheduling, authorization verification, pre insurance, accuracy, errors and co-pay collections in pre access area.Provide excellent customer service to our patients and visitorsMeets and abides by GH Mission, Vision & ValuesOther duties as deemed necessaryPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.PAY RANGE: $17.17 - $21.84The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
