Location: Geneva

Hourly: $21 (based on experience)

Length: Contract to Hire

Schedule: M-F

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for registering patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and ensuring accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EPIC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
  • Register patients efficiently while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and address any registration-related questions.
  • Update and maintain patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate with medical staff to manage patient flow.
  • Provide high-quality customer service by addressing patient concerns professionally.
  • Handle incoming calls related to patient registration, insurance, and scheduling.
  • Work closely with billing and finance departments to resolve registration discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred).
  • Experience in patient registration, medical front desk, or healthcare administration.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, co-pay collection, and billing procedures.
  • Proficiency in EPIC or other EHR systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality policies.
