Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Patient Registration Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for auditing new patient paperwork to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness before patients are treated. This person will be confirming that information is correctly entered into our electronic medical record system. The specialist will work closely with the staff at our clinics and our intake team to support smooth and efficient processes, maintaining high standards for data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:Audit New Patient Paperwork: Review incoming patient forms for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations.Ensure Data Integrity: Validate patient demographic information, insurance details, consent forms, credit cards, insurance cards, identification and other relevant documentation before submitting them for entry into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.Communication & Follow-up: Collaborate with the clinic staff and patients to resolve any missing or incomplete information, ensuring timely processing.Compliance: Maintain awareness of HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations, ensuring patient confidentiality and data security.System Updates: Input or oversee the input of patient information into the EMR system once the paperwork is approved and audited for accuracy.Documentation: Maintain detailed records of auditing findings, corrections, and follow-up actions, and provide regular reports to management.Process Improvement: Suggest improvements to patient registration and auditing processes to enhance efficiency and minimize errors.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or healthcare-related certification preferred.Experience: 1-2 years of experience in healthcare administration, patient registration, or medical records preferred. Experience in auditing or quality assurance is a plus.Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR systems and Google Suite.Key Competencies:Strong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyUnderstanding of healthcare compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA)Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
