Additional Position Details:FTE: 0.9 (72 hours per pay period) |Full Time|12-hour shifts / 6:45AM to 7:15PM PLEASE NOTE: This is an entry level position and a typical starting range (depending on years of work experience) will be between $15.00 to $17.00 an hour. A rate over $17.00 an hour could take at least 5 years of very direct work experience (such as caregiver or CNA) or 10+ years of non-relevant work experience. As aPatient Safety Monitorat Asante, you will have the opportunity to earn extra money per hour (shift differentials) for swing, night, and weekend hours:
  • $1.16 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
  • $2.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
  • $0.99 extra for working weekend hours
Position Summary ThePatient Safety Monitorprimarily assists with providing a safe environment to a specific patient through visual observation. The need for a Patient Safety Monitor is initiated and ordered by the attending physician or per hospital policy and in this role, they will be responsible for providing customer service to the patient and as well as notifying the appropriate primary nurse and/or charge nurse of safety issues or concerns. Key Responsibilities
  • Supports the healthcare delivery team by monitoring patient activities as directed by primary nurse and ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Communicates any necessary absences from the bedside to the licensed nurse or CNA so that coverage can be arranged.
  • Participates in education and performance Improvement activities to provide a quality service and keep current with industry changes.
Position QualificationsExperience
  • Previous work or volunteer experience doing customer service type tasks, such as answering questions and communicating information is required.
Certifications/Courses
  • BLS : Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start.
  • Asante Crisis Intervention course must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Asante Safe Patient Handling course must be completed within 30 days of hire.
