Patient Service Representative - Iowa Eye P.C. : Job Details

Iowa Eye Center in Cedar Rapids is now hiring for a full time Patient Service Representative!

Iowa Eye Center is a physician-owned practice that sees patients from Unity Point and Mercy Medical systems. Local solo practice ophthalmologists founded the group practice in 1992. It's a great place to work! There are 7 physicians and 55 employees. We are currently searching for someone to join our patient service representative team. This is a full-time position with one afternoon off per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a public relations agent for the office when speaking with patients, other physician offices, etc.
• Checking patients in and out of appointments
• Verifying and updating patient demographics and insurance information
• Obtaining insurance authorizations as needed
• Scheduling follow-up appointments and entering recall information
• Collecting and posting co-payments and patient balances

What we are looking for:

• Someone who has worked in a medical business office setting
• Experience with Next Gen Practice Management System would be great but not required
• Ability to communicate with your co-workers, physicians, and medical personnel
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients
