The Patient Services Representative will assist in the overall daily operations of the clinic.Responsibilities:•Schedule physical exams, follow-up medical appointments, and emergency medical visits for all patients•Schedule medical appointments for Physician and Physician Assistant as required; schedule patient appointments with other staff as necessary•Set up systems to ensure that patients are scheduled for revisits and that they are reminded of pending scheduled visits•Ensure that case records are available for medical or counseling appointments. Prepare charts for physical examinations and physician contacts. Prepare medical and social charts for new clients•Record and file abnormal lab report results; label and route lab specimens•Monitor patient flow in Medical Waiting Room•Filing of all materials, such as doctor's notes, consultation reports, lab reports, and x-ray reports, into case records. Review records continuously for missing data. Keep all records up to date•Set up and maintain a filing system for correspondence and records. File records reports, correspondence, etc. And search files to obtain same•Type letters, forms reports, charts, bills, inter-office correspondence, purchase orders, and check request, petty cash vouchers, reimbursement forms, etc. as required•Assist clinic secretary as needed; perform all secretarial duties in his/her absence•Operate all office equipment, including photocopier and fax machines•Answer telephone calls and route them to the appropriate staff member•Perform all clerical duties and other related duties as assigned•Must be able to work collaboratively with multiple staff members in a fast paced environment, be willing to rotate from clinic to clinic, and willing to work other than Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pmQualifications:•High School Diploma/GED required•One year of experience in healthcare preferably in registration, Scheduling, or Admission required•One year of experience using Microsoft Word Products (Outlook, Word and Excel) required•Bi-Lingual (English-Spanish) preferred•Experience with Epic registration preferred•Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorization, referrals & patient transportation preferred •Knowledge of Medicaid and Managed Care Plans preferredThe hours for this position are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.
